In 1973, a then twenty-year-old Vittorio G. Carelli began
this journey as a sales and service provider of Porsche
automobiles. His fascination with the automobile, and
its elements of technical excellence and superior design,
mirrored itself in the evolution of the Carelli enterprise.
By 1978, Carelli Design had acquired a remarkable understanding of every nut-and-bolt
of the Porsche product. Armed with this knowledge, the
company set forth on independent design ventures, which
soon provided for the creation of a full-scale transportation
design facility located in Costa Mesa, California. By
now, the company’s fastidious founder had developed
integral ties with the legendary automobile manufacturer
Dr. Ing. H.C.F. Porsche AG. This affiliation led to
the 1980-1981 styling of the Carelli
Design C928 Porsche.
The success of the C928 project brought acclamation
and worldwide recognition to the company’s small
team of inspired designers and engineers, at the time
a mere 28 employees in all. Known by this time as Carelli
International, company operations were extended overseas
by 1983, establishing one of the country’s most
effective export operations of Mercedes Benz automobiles.
Superior technical standards continued to dominate the
company philosophy, organically applying themselves
to U.S. EPA and DOT Federal standards for vehicles intended
for import into the United States.
In 1986, Carelli engineers began early experiments
in fluid separation technology, and the eventual development
of proprietary technologies provided for the birth of
EuroSystem Systems
& Technology, a subsidiary of Carelli International.
Today, that technology is referred to as Reverse Osmosis,
or RO, and employed worldwide.
Today, Carelli International operates several subsidiaries:
Carelli
Design provides industrial product design, mechanical
engineering, prototyping, product branding and packaging,
product evaluation analysis, manufacturing and manufacturing
liaison, digital design, and internet development. EuroSystem
Systems & Technology, a technology unit of Carelli
International, specializes in the design, manufacture,
and distribution of ultra high-end commercial reverse
osmosis purification for the medical, pharmaceutical
and food service industry. Vittorio Carelli International
S.L. Paris France, reassigned to U.S. operations in
1993, specializes in the design, manufacture, and distribution
of luxury items.
The company contributes much of its methodology and
engineering ideology to those early years influenced
by Porsche. It may even be said that Vittorio Carelli’s
early unrelenting fascination with the Porsche automobile
is responsible for the modern existence of Carelli
International.
